The 12 countries participating in men’s hockey at the 2026 Olympic Winter Games in Milan are naming the first six players to their preliminary rosters on Monday.
Lightning captain Victor Hedman was one of the six players announced for Team Sweden.
Hedman is six-time finalist for the Norris Trophy, and won in 2018 as the League’s best defenseman. He helped the Lightning win back-to-back Stanley Cup championships in 2020 and 2021, earning the Conn Smythe Trophy as MVP of the playoffs in 2020.
Hedman scored one goal in four games for Sweden in the 2016 World Cup of Hockey and has represented it at the World Championship four times. He captained Team Sweden for the Four Nations Face-off in February.
