The 12 countries participating in men’s hockey at the 2026 Olympic Winter Games in Milan are each set to name the first six players to their preliminary rosters on Monday.

Lightning forward Zemgus Girgensons was one of six players announced for Team Latvia.

Girgensons had 194 points (91 goals, 103 assists) in 770 games in his first 10 seasons with the Buffalo Sabres. He had six points (two goals, four assists) in his first season with the Lightning in 2024-25.

This will be Girgenson’s first international competition since the 2017 World Championship. He had two points in five games for Latvia in the 2014 Sochi Olympics.
