The Lightning should consider playing this young forward in their top six.

Tampa Bay Lightning forward Conor Geekie is one of the team's most promising young forwards. While the 22-year-old is still looking to break out at the NHL level, it is clear that he has good upside.

Geekie's stats from this past season with the Syracuse Crunch certainly demonstrate his potential. In 57 games with the AHL club in 2025-26, he posted 17 goals, 42 assists, and 59 points. With numbers like these, he should get more opportunities on the Lightning's roster next season.

Yet, with Geekie having good potential, the Lightning should strongly consider giving him a real shot in their top six this upcoming season.

It is clear that the Lightning could use another legitimate top-six winger to solidify their forward group. However, the free agent market does not have a ton of notable options left. With that, the Lightning should not be afraid to give Geekie a real chance in their top six. Perhaps this could lead to the young forward taking that next step and having that big breakout year.

The potential for Geekie to emerge as an impactful power forward in the NHL is there. It will be interesting to see if the Bolts give him chances in their top six next season because of it from here.
