The Tampa Bay Lightning added to their prospect pipeline on Tuesday, signing forward Noah Steen to a two-year, entry-level contract set to begin with the 2026-27 season.
Steen, 21, will join the Syracuse Crunch on a professional tryout for the remainder of the 2025-26 campaign, giving the organization an immediate look at one of its late-round draft picks.
Selected in the seventh round (No. 199 overall) of the 2024 NHL Draft, Steen is coming off a full season with Örebro HK in the Swedish Hockey League. He appeared in 52 games, recording 12 goals and 22 points while finishing fourth on the team in goals and sixth in scoring. The Oslo, Norway native also posted a plus-6 rating, tied for third-best among Örebro skaters.
Internationally Steen has been in the mix, serving as an alternate captain for Norway at the 2025 IIHF Men’s World Championship, where he scored two goals, tied for second on the team.
His arrival in Syracuse comes at a key point in the season. The Crunch, currently 39-20-3-3, are among the top teams in the North Division as they continue their push toward the Calder Cup Playoffs.
Steen is expected to report immediately and will have an opportunity to make an early impression within the Lightning organization down the stretch.
