Don't be surprised if this Lightning star has a bounce-back year.

The 2025-26 season was a tough year for Tampa Bay Lightning star forward Brayden Point. In 63 regular-season games with Tampa in 2025-26, he posted 18 goals and 50 points. He also scored just one goal in seven playoff games for the Lightning.

While Point had a down year for his standards in 2025-26, there is clear reason to believe that he can bounce back for the Lightning this upcoming season.

Just back during the 2024-25 season with the Lightning, Point recorded 42 goals and 82 points. This was after he posted 46 goals and 90 points in 81 games for Tampa Bay in 2023-24. He also had 51 goals and 95 points in 82 games for the Lightning in 2022-23.

With recent seasons like these, it is very hard to bet against Point having a bounce-back year for the Lightning. It would not be shocking in the slightest if he is back to being a point-per-game player for the Bolts in 2026-27.

It will now be interesting to see what kind of season Point has this year. There is no question that he is one of the NHL's top bounce-back candidates to watch.
