This Lightning star is heating back up.

The Tampa Bay Lightning defeated the Detroit Red Wings by a 4-2 final score on Tuesday night.

Brayden Point certainly played a role in the Lightning's win, as he each of the Lightning's first two goals of the game.

With this two-goal game, the Lightning star center has now extended his point streak to five games. Over that span, Point has recorded four goals and seven points. Thus, there is no question that the 30-year-old forward is heating up big time right now.

Due to his hot stretch of play, Point now has five goals, eight assists, and 13 points in 14 games this season with the Lightning. With numbers like these, he is well on his way to having a much-needed bounce-back season this campaign.

Point had a down year by his standards in 2025-26, as he recorded 18 goals and 50 points in 63 games. However, Point is now looking more like the player who recorded at least 82 points in each season from 2022-23 to 2024-25 again.

It will now be interesting to see if Point can continue to keep this kind of play up from here. If he does, the Lightning should be in very good shape this campaign.
