Whenever it seems that the Tampa Bay Lightning are nearing a fully healthy lineup, things seem to always go south.
During the Lightning's game against the Buffalo Sabres on Saturday night, both Dominic James and Gage Goncalves left the game due to injury. Goncalves left the bench during the second period, then James was hit awkwardly before being fallen on top of, resulting in the 23-year-old forward struggling to put any weight on one of his legs.
Following a recall early in the season, James has become a regular in the Lightning lineup this season. He's played in 42 games this season, scoring six goals and adding eight assists in the process.
As for Goncalves, he's been spending quite a bit of time in the Lightning's top-six this season and has established himself as a valuable player. In 53 games, he's scored seven goals and tallied a total of 20 points in what is likely to be his first full season at the NHL level.
At this time, there is no update on the condition of either player.
