The Tampa Bay Lightning are not necessarily known for possessing the deepest prospect pools. However, they still have some interesting young players who have the potential to blossom into impactful NHL players in the future.

One specific Lightning prospect who fans should not overlook is forward Dylan Duke.

Duke, 21, was selected by the Lightning with the 126th overall pick of the 2021 NHL Entry Draft. Since then, it must be a selection that the Lightning are incredibly happy about, as Duke has been developing his game quite nicely over the last few seasons.

As a freshman at the University of Michigan in 2021-22, the 5-foot-10 posted 10 goals and 19 points in 41 games. He then took a step forward in the following season, recording 18 goals and 32 points in 41 games for the school. However, this past season was the Strongsville, Ohio native's best campaign, as he set new career highs with 26 goals, 23 assists, and 49 points. Following his big year, he signed his entry-level deal with the Lightning and is now gearing up for his first full professional season in 2024-25.

It is undoubtedly encouraging that Duke's offense only improved as his collegiate career continued. The youngster has the potential to become an NHL player for the Bolts, and it will be fascinating to see what he can do this season in the AHL with the Syracuse Crunch. Perhaps he could even become a call-up candidate down the stretch if he performs well. The left winger has the skill to make a case for himself.
