Could this Lightning forward have a breakout year in 2026-27?
Conor Geekie is a young player who the Tampa Bay Lightning are hoping will emerge as a big part of their roster in the future. He certainly has the potential to, as he has good upside and the tools to blossom into an impactful NHL forward.
Geekie spent the majority of this past season in the AHL with the Syracuse Crunch and showed a lot of promise. In 57 games with the AHL club in 2025-26, he posted 17 goals, 42 assists, and 59 points. With numbers like these, it is clear that the 2022 first-round pick has offensive upside.
While Geekie has not broken out at the NHL level yet, he undoubtedly has the potential to change that next season. There is a lot to like about the 6-foot-4 forward's game, and it would be significant for the Bolts if he took a big step forward in his development next season.
If Geekie can break out offensively and cement himself as a solid part of the Lightning's top nine, it would be big news for a Bolts club that is looking to be contenders in 2026-27. It will be interesting to see what kind of season the young forward puts together from here.
