Lightning's Gage Goncalves Looking To Take Another Step Forward
The 2025-26 season was a success for Goncalves, as he set new career highs with 11 goals, 22 assists, and 33 points in 74 games for the Lightning. Now, he will be aiming to take another step in the right direction with his development this campaign with the Bolts.
Goncalves has been showing clear signs of improvement with the Lightning over the last few seasons. Yet, when noting that he is still only 25 years old and entering just his third full NHL season, the possibility of him hitting a new level this campaign should not be ruled out.
If Goncalves can improve his offensive totals this season, it would be huge for a Lightning club that is aiming to keep its Stanley Cup window open. It will be interesting to see what kind of season the skilled forward can put together in 2026-27 from here.
