The NHL has announced that Tampa Bay Lightning goaltender Andrei Vasilevskiy has been named a finalist for the Vezina Trophy. In addition to Vasilevskiy, Winnipeg Jets goalie Connor Hellebuyck and Los Angeles Kings netminder Darcy Kuemper are finalists for the award.

The Vezina Trophy is awarded each season "to the goaltender adjudged to be the best at his position." When looking at how well Vasilevskiy played this season for the Lightning, it is understandable that he has been named a finalist for the Vezina.

Vasilevskiy was a major reason for the Lightning's high amount of success this regular-season. In 63 games, he had a 38-20-5 record, a .921 save percentage, a 2.18 goals-against average, and six shutouts. Overall, it was a spectacular year from the 30-year-old.

Vasilevskiy previously won the Vezina Trophy for the 2018-19 season. It will now be interesting to see if he can win the second one of his career from here.

In 540 career NHL games with the Lightning, Vasilevskiy has a 331-163-35 record, a 2.52 goals-against average, and a .917 save percentage.
