The NHLPA has released their player poll for the 2024-25 season, and Tampa Bay Lightning goaltender Andrei Vasilevskiy received some massive praise in it.

636 players in the poll were asked who the best overall goalie is, and Vasilevskiy was at the top of the list, receiving 31.13% of the votes. When looking at how dominant Vasilevskiy has been not only this season but throughout his career, it is easy to understand why he is being viewed in such a light.

Vasilevskiy is enjoying an excellent bounce-back season with the Bolts this campaign, posting a 37-20-5 record, a 2.20 goals-against average, and a .921 save percentage in 62 games. He has been a major reason for the Lightning's success this season, and it's why many view the Bolts as legitimate contenders heading into the playoffs.

Vasilevskiy also has an incredible resume in general. The 2012 first-round pick is a two-time Stanley Cup champion, one-time Vezina Trophy winner, one-time Conn Smythe winner, and five-time All-Star. He has been spectacular for several years now, so it makes sense that so many players view him as the best goaltender in the league.
