Tampa Bay Lightning forward Brandon Hagel has been incredible for the Atlantic Division club this season. In 68 games this season, the star winger has scored a career-high 32 goals and has posted 75 points. He also has a plus-29 rating.
Hagel is not slowing down as the season progresses, either, as he scored a goal and added an assist in the Lightning's last contest against the Dallas Stars on March 20. Hagel's goal was also a good one, too, as he one-timed an Anthony Cirelli feed past Stars goalie Casey DeSmith
Hagel also made some history in the process. According to NHL Public Relations, the Lightning star has set a single-season NHL record by scoring 32 goals before getting his first power-play goal. Former Winnipeg Jets forward Doug Smail previously held the record with 31 goals before getting a power-play tally, which was back during the 1984-85 season.
Scoring 32 goals before getting a power-play one is impressive. It shows just how well Hagel is able to produce offense during five-on-five play. He also has a career-high three shorthanded goals this season for good measure.
