Nikita Kucherov has a real chance of hitting a significant milestone next season.
Nikita Kucherov had another spectacular season for the Tampa Bay Lightning in 2025-26. In 76 games, the veteran winger posted 44 goals, 86 assists, and 130 points. With these numbers, he won the Hart Memorial Trophy for the second time in his career.
Now, Kucherov is entering the 2026-27 season with the chance to hit another major milestone.
At the time of this writing, Kucherov sits at 1,124 career points. With this, the 33-year-old forward needs 76 more points to hit the 1,200th of his NHL career. When looking at how dominant he has been over the last several seasons, there is a very good chance that he will hit this milestone next season if he stays healthy.
That is not the only major accomplishment Kucherov has the potential to reach next season. He needs just 14 points to pass Steven Stamkos for the most points in Lightning history.
With all of this, there is no question that Kucherov is having himself an amazing NHL career. It is going to be interesting to see if he can hit the 1,200 career point mark next season. Only 54 players in the history of the NHL have reached this milestone.
