The Lightning defenseman took to social media to share where he is at in his injury recovery.
It has been a long 40 days since Tampa Bay Lightning star defenseman Mikhail Sergachev suffered fractures to his left tibia and fibula.
Sergachev, 25, has been documenting his recovery, and recently posted an Instagram video of him back on the ice skating around the Lightning practice facility, TGH Ice Plex.
On a recent episode of "Recharge" Sergachev stated that doctors gave him a three-month recovery window post-surgery. During his trade deadline media availability, GM Julien BriseBois said Sergachev could make a possible return if the Lightning can extend a postseason run.
"Postseason? Yes. Start of the postseason? I don't think that's a possibility," said BriseBois. "First of all, we have to get into the postseason & then hopefully extend our postseason. Then, it is possible that he would rejoin us at some point."
The Lightning are currently in the first wild card spot, and expected to make the playoffs.
