Dennis Hildeby was solid in his Lightning debut.
The Tampa Bay Lightning kept their winning streak alive with their 3-2 victory over the Minnesota Wild on Thursday night
New goaltender Dennis Hildeby undoubtedly helped the Lightning win this game, as he put together a solid performance.
Hildeby stopped 34 out of 36 shots against the Wild. With this, he ended the night with an impressive .944 save percentage.
Seeing Hildeby having this kind of debut for the Lightning is undoubtedly promising. The Lightning acquired him from the Toronto Maple Leafs this off-season with the hope that he would provide them with an upgrade at the backup goalie position. So far, he is doing just that.
Hildeby will now be looking to continue to impress with the Lightning as the season rolls on. At 25 years old, he still has the potential to improve his game further, and it will be intriguing to see if he can do just that this season for Tampa Bay.
In 20 games last season with the Maple Leafs, he had one shutout, a .914 save percentage, and a 2.86 goals-against average.
