Tampa Bay Lightning forward Nikita Kucherov has once again hit a major milestone.

On Monday night, the Lightning visited the Buffalo Sabres. Nearly 12 minutes into the first period, Kucherov scored his 43rd goal of the season, which was also the 400th of his career. He became just the second player in franchise history to hit the milestone, as Steven Stamkos scored 555 goals as a member of the Lightning.

Kucherov is also closing in on another major milestone, although he likely won't hit it this season. With his goal, he now trails Stamkos for franchise lead in points by just 17. While it's possible for him to get 17 points in the next five games given his absurd level of offensive production this season, it's certainly not likely.

Kucherov is certainly making a compelling case for his second-career Hart Trophy as league MVP, as he's currently battling with Connor McDavid for the league lead in points, despite playing quite a few less games throughout the campaign.
