Florida Panthers defenseman Niko Mikkola was fined $5,000 on Tuesday for boarding Tampa Bay Lightning forward Zemgus Girgensons during Game 4 of their first round series.
Mikkola was ejected early into the third period for boarding Girgensons, who was down on this knees at the time of the hit.
Girgensons appeared shaken up but did return to the game.
