According to The Fourth Period's David Pagnotta, Tampa Bay Lightning defenseman Nick Perbix will hit the free-agent market on July 1.
Perbix, 27, is one of the Lightning's most notable pending unrestricted free agents. Now, based on this report from Pagnotta, the right-shot defenseman will be testing the market.
Perbix appeared in 74 regular-season games in 2024-25 with the Lightning, where he posted six goals, 13 assists, 19 points, 50 hits, and a plus-8 rating. He also played in five playoff games for the Bolts this year, posting one assist and an even plus/minus rating.
Perbix should get a decent amount of interest in free agency, as he is one of the top pending UFA right-shot defenseman who can become available on July 1.
Perbix was selected by the Lightning with the 169th overall pick of the 2017 NHL Entry Draft. In 220 games over three seasons with the Lightning, Perbix has recorded 13 goals, 50 assists, 63 points, and a plus-27 rating.
Report: Ex-Lightning Tough Guy Expected To Become Free Agent
During this past off-season, the Tampa Bay Lightning traded forward Tanner Jeannot to the Los Angeles Kings in exchange for a 2025 second-round pick and a 2024 fourth-round pick. The move was understandable, as the Lightning needed to free up cap space, and Jeannot struggled to find his fit in Tampa Bay.
