Tampa Bay Lightning prospect Sam O'Reilly has been named as a finalist for the Red Tilson Trophy, which is awarded annually to the Ontario Hockey League's most valuable player.
O'Reilly, who is currently playing in the OHL playoffs with the Kitchener Rangers, recorded 43 points in 28 games after joining the Rangers midseason. Prior to the trade, he was a maintaining a point-per-game pace as captain of the London Knights, with 28 points in 28 games. As a whole, he had 71 points in 56 games during the 2025-26 season, 29 of which were goals.
O'Reilly finished 21st in the league in total points, although that is in large part due to the number of games he played. Had he played a full season, it's possible he would have been slightly higher up the leaderboard. Considering he's known more for his defensive responsibilities though, offense isn't the entire reason that O'Reilly is in consideration for the award.
In the playoffs, O'Reilly's production has continued to grow. He has 11 goals in 10 postseason games, and a total of 16 points.
