Tampa Bay Lightning Can Break Franchise Record Against St. Louis cover image

The Tampa Bay Lightning are on the verge of franchise history, and only the St. Louis Blues, who currently hold the worst goal differential in the league,  stand in their way.

The Lightning will enter tomorrow night’s game with an 11-game winning streak which is tied for the longest streak in franchise history. Their previous 11-game winning streak came during the 2019-20 season, ending less than a month before the league was forced to suspend operations due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The current 11-game winning streak is just the fourth double-digit streak in franchise history, and it’s also the longest winning streak across the league this season.

If the Lightning are aiming for the longest winning streak in league history, they’ve still got quite a bit to go, as that record belongs to the 1992-93 Pittsburgh Penguins who won 17 straight games across March and April of 1993.

The most recent winning streak of 12 or more games was last season, when, ironically, it was  the Blues who won 12 straight in late March.
