The Tampa Bay Lightning announced on Tuesday that they have signed Norwegian forward Noah Steen to a two-year entry-level contract.

Steen, the Lightning's seventh-round selection in the 2024 NHL Draft, has been playing in the Swedish Hockey League for Orebro HK. He's known mostly for his two-way ability, but his offensive production took a considerable step forward during the 2025-26 season.

This season, Steen appeared in 52 games for Orebro. During that time, he scored a career-high 12 goals and 22 points in a league known for its low scoring. For context, only five players across the league recorded 50 or more points.

Orebro was eliminated from the playoffs by Lulea HF. Steen failed to record a point in three playoff appearances.

Steen will report directly to the Lightning's American Hockey League affiliate, the Syracuse Crunch, where he'll join them for the remainder of their push toward the playoffs on an AHL tryout. His contract will officially begin next season.

According to Jimmy Hamrin of Elite Prospects, if Steen makes it to the NHL, he'll likely be a checking winger on the fourth line. Hamrin noted that Steen " is strong on the puck, brings energy and can compete in the tight areas," but also mentioned some major improvements will be needed for him to reach his NHL potential.
