Expect a big year from Brayden Point.
Brayden Point will be one of the most interesting players to watch this season on the Tampa Bay Lightning.
Point is entering the 2026-27 season with the goal of bouncing back. The 30-year-old forward had a down year for his standards in 2025-26 with the Lightning, as he posted 18 goals and 50 points in 63 games.
Yet, when looking at Point's resume, it is clear that there is a very good chance that he will bounce back for Tampa Bay in 2026-27.
Before this past campaign, Point recorded at least 42 points and 82 points over his previous three seasons. This included him posting 51 goals and 95 points in 82 games for Tampa Bay during the 2022-23 season. With numbers like these, he is capable of being a superstar, and it would not be shocking if his offense skyrockets again in 2026-27 because of it.
If Point can have a big season for the Lightning, it would certainly help their chances of remaining contenders. It will be interesting to see what kind of season Point has in 2026-27, but there is a clear reason to be optimistic about the possibility of him bouncing back.
