Girgensons went 54 games without a goal, but has made it to the other side.

Tampa Bay Lightning forward Zemgus Girgensons scored his first goal since joining the team during their Sunday matchup against the Montreal Canadiens.

It was a quick shot off an offensive zone face-off, with the help of Cam Atkinson. The Lightning have been looking for scoring help from their third and fourth line for the past few weeks, and they're starting to get it.

Before signing with the Lightning on July 1, 2024, Girgensons inked a one-year, $2.5 million contract to stay with the Buffalo Sabres on June 20, 2023. He was the longest tenured member of the team at that time with 625 games played over 10 seasons.

He's played 55 games for Tampa Bay this season, scoring one goal and 2 assists.
