The Tampa Bay Lightning are back at Amalie Arena on Tuesday night to face the L.A. Kings. Regardless of how the season has gone up until this point, there are still 41 games left for them to grab a playoff spot.

After having one of the best starts in the league, the Kings arrive in Tampa in the middle of a five-game losing streak, most recently to the Capitals. Four of those losses have been decided by just one goal, including two shootouts.

As for the Lightning, we’ve seen them play right alongside their competition in big games at home. This team has the talent to win and we saw it against Vegas, Boston and St. Louis. Ideally, this will be one of those hard fought games.

It’s going to be a tough matchup and the key for the Lightning will be to get up early. The Kings are a strong defensive team, allowing just 2.38 goals per game while also ranking in the top three in scoring chances allowed.

Monday's Practice Updates - Jon Cooper set the line combinations to what we’ve seen in the past. Steven Stamkos was back on the top line with Brayden Point and Nikita Kucherov. Brandon Hagel was back with Anthony Cirelli and Mikey Eyssimont.

Tanner Jeannot was still being evaluated as of yesterday, but is expected to be week-to-week. Mikhail Sergachev appears to be in the same boat. The Lightning will continue to utilize players from Syracuse.

Tuesday's Practice - Practice was optional on Tuesday, but Jon Cooper did indicate that Erik Cernak would be back in the lineup Tuesday night against the Kings.

"That will be a welcomed addition for us. We are a better team when he's in the lineup so, hopefully, he's ready to go."
