Nathan MacKinnon opened the scoring for Canada, when Sidney Crosby sent a backhanded pass to MacKinnon, that went right past Sweden's goaltender Filip Gustavsson to make it 1-0. Canada's second goal was set up by Brayden Point as he found Brad Marchand on a 2-on-1 to extend the team's lead to 2-0 over Sweden.
