PHILADELPHIA — Toronto Maple Leafs teammates were thrilled when news came down that Bobby McMann inked a new two-year extension with the club.

That includes rookie forward Matthews Knies, who took to Instagram and posted a meme of Steve Carell and Rainn Wilson from 'The Office" embracing from an episode from Season 2, superimposed over the news release of McMann's extension.

"I’m an Office fan. I was sitting next to him on the bird, so it was funny I was making it while he was just sitting there," Knies told TSN's Mark Masters following the Maple Leafs morning skate ahead of their game against the Philadelphia Flyers. "He deserves it with his play and his attitude off the ice. I’m really happy for him"

Knies included Joseph Woll as one of the teammates also happy for McMann in the post. The scene is from The Office episode titled  'Branch Closing' at the moment when characters Michael Scott and Dwight Schrute learn that after initially being told their branch was closing they were staying open after all.

McMann signed a two-year, $2.7 million extension with the Maple Leafs on Wednesday. The club announced the news following the team's practice in Toronto on the road to Philadelphia.
