Amazon broadcasted its first Toronto Maple Leafs game as part of a new rights deal to air Canadian NHL games on Monday nights this season. The stream featured a 45-minute pre-game show without commentary.

Those who tuned in were treated to the pre-game warmup, where Tampa Bay Lightning goaltender Andrei Vasilevskiy gave quite the snow shower to Morgan Rielly.

There's no love lost between these division rivals, but it’s hard to tell if Vasilevskiy did this intentionally or not.

The Maple Leafs' only playoff series win since 2004 came against the Lightning when they defeated them in six games during the 2023 Stanley Cup Playoffs.

Amazon's Prime Monday Night Hockey is airing the first of six Leafs games this season as part of a sub-licensing deal with Rogers Communications.

It turns out, Rielly and the Maple Leafs got the last laugh as Vasilevskiy was chased out of the game after allowing four goals on 14 shots as Toronto went on to defeat Tampa 5-2.

Did you enjoy the enhanced pre-game coverage that included warmup footage? Let us know in the comments.
