Toronto Maple Leafs left winger Easton Cowan joined Canadian country artist Brett Kissel in a concert in Strathroy, Ont.
It's music concert season with numerous shows taking place across the province, country, continent and world. That's no different for Strathroy, Ont., the hometown of Toronto Maple Leafs left winger Easton Cowan.
Canadian country singer Brett Kissel performed in Cowan's hometown. At one point during Kissel's show on Thursday at West Middlesex Memorial Centre, the artist called the Maple Leafs youngster to walk out to center stage.
Cowan entered the stage with his jersey wrapped around his arm. Kissel was asked by Cowan to wear his No. 53 jersey.
However, Kissel, who is an Alberta native, wasn't very fond of pulling a Toronto jersey over his head. So instead, he presented a fun little challenge to the 21-year-old.
"I'll tell you what," Kissel told Cowan. "If I can drink this beer faster than you, I ain't going to wear (the jersey). If you can drink that beer faster than me, I'll put it on."
To the loud, encouraging crowd, Cowan accepted the challenge. He was ultimately victorious, and Kissel threw on his jersey.
"Don't send this to McDavid," Kissel joked. "Get your phones away, everybody, put them away!"
After Kissel's show in Strathroy, he had another show on Friday in Barrie on the opening day of the three-day Boots and Hearts festival.
Maple Leafs forwards John Tavares and Steven Lorentz contributed to that event as the two of them featured in the Boots and Hearts Barn Burner charity hockey game.
