Maple Leafs' Fraser Minten Scores His First NHL Goal

Minten scored while playing in his first game of the season.

Toronto Maple Leafs superstar center Auston Matthews took the ice for the club's optional morning skate on Saturday. But when will he return to game action?

Fraser Minten has his first NHL goal.

The Toronto Maple Leafs forward scored at the 8:53 mark of the first period, beating Vegas Golde Knights goaltender Adin Hill.

William Nylander and Oliver Ekman-Larsson assisted on the goals.

Minten is playing in his first game of the season after he was called up on Tuesday amid a slew of injuries and unavailable forwards.

Minten made his NHL debut last season, making the team out of training camp and playing in four games before returning to Junior for the remainder of the 2023-24 campaign. He has two goals and two assists in five games this season with the AHL's Toronto Marlies.

Wearing a neck guard

Minten made his season debut wearing neck protection, something that is mandated in the NHL, telling TSN's Chris Johnston he got used to wearing it when he returned to the WHL last season and kept it on in preparation due to AHL mandates.
