Domi posted the video that shows his face edited onto movie star Leonardo DiCaprio.
Max Domi was so happy about extending his stay with the Toronto Maple Leafs that he posted a creative public service announcement on his social media.
The creative video that featured his face edited onto the Jordan Belfort character in the 2013 film 'The Wolf of Wall Street' was posted quite quickly after word spread about Domi's four-year, $3.75 million contract.
It turns out, that video was already in his back pocket for a while.
"It's tough to throw that video when you're on a new team every year," Domi said. "So first time that I've gotten the stability I've been looking for and obviously a long-time goal of mine to be in Toronto. So to be able to throw that video together was me and my buddy and he did a great job with it. So my idea, but he created it."
The 29-year-old hasn't had a contract longer than two seasons since coming out of his entry-level contract in 2018.
The Leafs are Domi's seventh NHL team but the player fit in really well with the Leafs when he signed a one-year, $3 million deal last summer. The forward had nine goals and 38 assists in 80 games. He spent time as both a winger and center, but found chemistry alongside Auston Matthews toward the latter part of the season and into the playoffs.

"I think it's a blessing in disguise to have lots of opportunity to play around the league and put lots of great teammates and learn from a lot of awesome coaches, Domi said. "Part of that of me bouncing around was always trying to end up here and was lucky enough to get the opportunity last year and had a great time, enjoyed every second of last year. Didn't end the way we wanted to, but was hoping to put my feet on the ground and then stick around for a while."
