Holmberg has five assists in six preliminary-round games for Sweden.
Pontus Holmberg is certainly making the most of his first-ever World Hockey Championship experience.
The Toronto Maple Leafs forward picked up another assist in Sweden's 3-1 victory against France on Monday.
The 25-year-old has picked up five assists in six games playing as a center on a line with Detroit Red Wings forward Lukas Raymond and Seattle Kraken forward Andre Burakovsky.
Holmberg picked up his lone assists against France by setting up his linemates.
Sweden improved to a perfect 6-0-0-0 in Group 'B' action and are sure to get a favourable matchup in the quarterfinals following their final preliminary-round game.
Holmberg is +9 for the tournament, which puts him second on the team in the stat department.

The experience of playing with such elite talent should help Holmberg, who will enter his third season with Toronto next year. With his ability to play up the middle or wing, he's shown some versatility to play both up and down the lineup.
The Maple Leafs head into an uncertain offseason but Holmberg is committed to the club at a friendly salary cap hit of $800,000. He played in 54 regular season games with the Leafs in 2023-24 and continued to develop as a depth forward that can be relied on up the middle if needed.
Playing in a top-six center role has worked out well for Holmberg thus far at the Worlds. Let's see if he can continue it on Tuesday when Sweden takes on Slovakia.
