Easton Cowan and Fraser Minten will be in the lineup for Toronto's final pre-season game of 2023.
The Toronto Maple Leafs have recalled several players from the Toronto Marlies roster to fill out the squad that will be travelling down Highway 401 to take on the Detroit Red Wings on Saturday.
The Maple Leafs held two groups of practice sessions on Friday with the players recalled all taking part in Group 1 (A non-NHL group).
Easton Cowan will see action. Toronto's top selection (28th overall) in the 2023 NHL Draft, the London Knights forward has impressed at camp and is expected to have any friends and family attend.
The game will serve as yet another audition for Fraser Minten to make the team. Toronto's second-round selection (38th overall) in the 2022 NHL Draft has impressed and has a legitimate shot of sticking around for opening night on Wednesday against the Montreal Canadiens.
Minten's impressive showing has also led to the experiment of William Nylander playing center coming to an abrupt ending.
Joseph Woll is expected to play the entire game in goal.
The game will be broadcast on TSN4 in the Toronto Maple Leafs' broadcast region. For Leafs fans outside of Toronto, the game will be streamed on Sportsnet+ premium tier, which includes NHL Live.
In the Detroit region, the game will be broadcast on Bally Sports' local feed and will be on NHL Live's offering in the rest of the United States (ESPN+)
