The Leafs will stack their opening pre-season lineup that may resemble opening night.

The Toronto Maple Leafs will dress a lineup thay may resemble their regular season opener when they host the Ottawa Senators for their very first pre-season game.

As has traditionally been the case, the Leafs typically dress an 'A' roster at home and then usually dress a lower-string lineup on the road. The Leafs will visit the Senators in Ottawa on Tuesday.

Sunday's game will be the first chance to see William Nylander play at center this season. During camp, he's been skating on a line with Max Domi and Calle Jarnkrok.

Although Nylander tried a pair of pre-season games last year at center, it was quickly abandoned until now.

"I got a lot of veterans in there at home tonight. Some real good players, but I also have some young guys in there to look at that have been good at camp in my opinion and deserve this opportunity to get a look," Berube said about the lineup.

The Leafs did not run any lines up Pacioretty confirmed John Tavares will be his center and he's practiced with Nikita Grebenkin throughout camp.

"He knows I have a little bit of a Russian background with my wife's family so I've been trying to talk to him a bit," Pacioretty said of Grebenkin. "But you know (he) surprised me a lot and in the scrimmage had two really good looks. Smart player offensively and hopefully we can score tonight."

The Leafs will keep their top power-play unit intact from previous seasons into tonight.

Joseph Woll and Matt Murray are scheduled to split the time in goal, per Berube.

Senators lineup

Former Maple Leafs Nikolay Kulemin and Noah Gregor will be among Senators making the trip to Toronto.

Gregor spent last season with the Leafs after initially joining as a PTO. Kulemin is attempting to return to the NHL after spending the last six years in the KHL.
