Matthews did a photo shoot with CCM a day after being named the team's 26th captain in franchise history. Now there are more photos.
It's just a matter of time until Toronto Maple Leafs fans will see Auston Matthews wearing the 'C' in an actual game. But in the meantime, his equipment supplier — CCM — continues to share posts of No. 34 with the captain's 'C' draped on his chest.
Over the weekend, CCM shared more photos of Matthews wearing the 'C' from a photoshoot he took part in last month.
On August 14, the Maple Leafs named Matthews the 26th captain in franchise history, succeeding John Tavares, who handed it over to the star in a summer ceremony.
One day later, Matthews was spotted wearing the new jersey with a 'C' on it in a shoot with CCM.
The Leafs' rookie showcase roster is expected to be revealed this week before they head to Montreal to take on the Canadiens for a pair of games on Sept. 14 and 15. Like most teams around the NHL, the Leafs are expected to have medicals/media day on Sept. 18 and on-ice sessions beginning on Sept. 19.
