Subscribers were sent emails showing a 25 percent increase in the monthly cost.

If you're a Toronto Maple Leafs fan and reside in their broadcast region, you need three subscriptions to catch all their games: TSN, Prime Video, and Sportsnet+.

Sportsnet+, which offers the largest number of games, is increasing its subscription cost.

Subscribers received emails on Monday notifying them that the monthly rate for Sportsnet+ will rise from $19.99 to $24.99, marking a 25% increase.

For annual subscribers, the cost is increasing from $179.99 to $199.99, an 11.1% hike.

The premium tier of Sportsnet+ remains at the same price, though it will lose WWE content, which moves to Netflix at the beginning of the year.

It's still unclear how these changes will impact customers accessing Sportsnet+ via cable providers.

"Sportsnet+ offers the most robust live content of any sports streaming product in Canada. The new price more accurately reflects this offering, while ensuring the product remains among the most affordable options available in Canada," Sportsnet told The Hockey News in an emailed statement on Tuesday.

While price increases are common, Sportsnet notably offered no discounts ahead of the hockey season, unlike TSN, which provided several discounts and credits.

Rogers recently announced a deal to acquire an additional 37.5 percent stake in Maple Leaf Sports and Entertainment for $4.7 billion CDN, increasing their investment to a 75 percent stake in the parent company that owns the Maple Leafs.

Sportsnet broadcasts 50 Maple Leafs games (36 nationally and 14 on Sportsnet Ontario), TSN airs 26 local games, and Prime Video streams six national games through a sublicensing deal with Sportsnet.

Starting in January, fans will need to budget $54.98 monthly for Sportsnet+ ($24.99), TSN ($20.00), and Prime Video ($9.99) to catch all the games.
