Stolarz made 25 saves on 26 shots in a 4-1 victory and then celebrated with fans in style.

After Anthony Stolarz was named the first star of the game in the Toronto Maple Leafs' 4-1 win against the Chicago Blackhawks, the goaltender stepped out wearing a pair of sunglasses and acknowledged the honor.

Nothing unusual there—except that he was sporting sunglasses indoors, in a dimly lit arena.

Was Stolarz showing off a bit of personality during what's shaping up to be his hottest season in the NHL?

As it turns out, that wasn’t quite the case.

"Someone gave it to me, and there's a camera on it, so I was just like, yeah, sure, why not, and kind of go out there. It was a little dark, but I guess there was a camera inside there," Stolarz explained.

The sunglasses in question? Ray-Ban Meta Smart Glasses, equipped with a built-in camera designed for capturing content, likely for social media. While it’s not the first time the Leafs have experimented with these high-tech shades, they’ve yet to share any footage from the game. No doubt, that reveal is just around the corner.

As for Stolarz, he’s letting his stellar performance do most of the talking. Signed to a two-year, $5 million contract over the summer, he’s been a cornerstone of the Leafs’ success this season. With a record of 14-8-4 and a .924 save percentage—ranking third-best in the NHL among goalies with at least nine games played—he’s proving to be worth every penny of that deal.

Stolarz’s off-ice cool might have gotten attention this time, but it’s his on-ice brilliance that keeps making waves.
