The Toronto Maple Leafs star forward has been on a tear and continued to put up the points on Sunday in Stockholm, Sweden.
STOCKHOLM — William Nylander's rip-roaring start to the regular season appears to have no end in sight.
The Toronto Maple Leafs forward extended his franchise record season-opening points streak on Sunday when he collected the primary assist on Auston Matthews' power-play goal at the 12:43 mark of the first period.
Nylander led the Maple Leafs in regular season points with 11 goals and 14 assists heading into Sunday's game and he is just one game shy of moving into a tie for second place for the team-record points streak of 18 held jointly by Darryl Sittler and Ed Olczyk.
Both of those players held the franchise record until last season when Mitch Marner smashed it with a 23-game point streak.
The 27-year-old star forward is an unrestricted free agent at the end of the season.
