BOSTON — William Nylander continues to add to his franchise-record points streak to start a season.
The Toronto Maple Leafs forward collected the secondary assist on Mitch Marner's goal at 6:31 of the second period that cut the Boston Bruins' lead to 2-1 at TD Garden on Thursday to extend the benchmark to 10 games.
Nylander already established the new team record at nine games on Tuesday by getting the secondary assist on Toronto's lone goal in a 4-1 loss to the Los Angeles Kings. The record season-opening points streak of eight games was previously held by Frank Mahovlich (1961-62), Lanny McDonald (1976-77) and John Anderson (1981-82).
The 27-year-old is an unrestricted free agent at the end of this season and has been consistently Toronto best producer of offense this season.
Nylander leads the Leafs in scoring this season with six goals and eight assists in 10 games. Toronto fell to Boston 3-2 in a shootout.
