William Nylander continues to rack up the points.
The Toronto Maple Leafs forward extended his season-opening franchise-record points streak to 11 games after assisting on Auston Matthews' power-play goal at 11:22 of the second period that tied the game 2-2 with the Buffalo Sabres.
On Thursday, Nylander collected the secondary assist on Mitch Marner's goal at 6:31 of the second period in their 3-2 shootout loss to the Boston Bruins to extend the benchmark to 10 games.
Nylander already established the new team record at nine games on Tuesday by getting the secondary assist on Toronto's lone goal in a 4-1 loss to the Los Angeles Kings. The record season-opening points streak of eight games was previously held by Frank Mahovlich (1961-62), Lanny McDonald (1976-77) and John Anderson (1981-82).
The 27-year-old is an unrestricted free agent at the end of this season and has been consistently Toronto's best producer of offense this season.
Nylander entered Saturday's contest leading all Maple Leafs in scoring with six goals and eight assists in 10 games.
