The veteran defenseman missed practice and his status for the Toronto Maple Leafs game against the New York Islanders will be assessed on Tuesday.
The Maple Leafs may be without TJ Brodie for their upcoming game against the New York Islanders.
The defenseman blocked a shot during the teams' 5-4 shootout win against the Ottawa Senators on Saturday.
"He didn't skate today and we'll make a decision on him tomorrow," Maple Leafs head coach Sheldon Keefe said of Brodie.
The club practiced with a different look on defense without the 32-year-old Brodie. Mark Giordano, who served as a healthy scratch for the first time since joining the Maple Leafs last season, is poised to draw back in.
Giordano skated with Justin Holl on Monday.
Brodie blocked three shots against the Senators but one of them occurred early in the third period when he blocked Austin Watson's shot off the inside of his foot. Brodie was a little slow to get to the bench following the shift.
There have been two long stretches this season where Brodie has been on injured reserve. He missed nearly a month with an oblique injury in November and parts of December. He missed three weeks in January with a rib injury.
The latest injury doesn't appear to be serious as he'll join the club for their four-game road trip that spans Long Island, Fort Lauderdale, Raleigh and Nashville.
In 47 games this season, Brodie has recorded two goals and nine assists and ranks second in average ice time among Maple Leafs defensemen this season at 21:08.
