The Toronto Marlies announced that head coach Greg Moore and assistant coaches A.J. MacLean and John Snowden will not return next season following North Division Final Sweep.

Minutes after the Toronto Maple Leafs announced that GM head coach Kyle Dubas would not be returning to the club, the Toronto Marlies announced the contracts of head coach Greg Moore and assistant coaches A.J. MacLean and John Snowden would not be renewed.

The Marlies finished with the best record in the North Division and earned a first-round bye thanks to a 42-24-4-2 record in the regular season. But Marlies struggled in the divisional final round, getting swept by the Rochester Americans in three games.

“I would like to extend our club’s sincere thanks to our coaching staff for their commitment and contributions to the organization,” said Ryan Hardy, Maple Leafs Assistant General Manager, Minor League Operations said in a statement. “Our club wishes Greg, A.J., John and their families all the best moving forward.”

Moore succeeded Maple Leafs head coach Sheldon Keefe, who was promoted to the Maple Leafs in Nov. 2019 following the dismissal of head coach Mike Babcock. MacLean had been with the organization for eight seasons and Snowden had been with the club for five seasons, the first three as head coach of the Newfoundland Growlers ECHL affiliate.

It's not clear if the moves were linked to Dubas' dismissal on Friday.
