The Toronto Maple Leafs goaltender allowed two goals on seven shots before the incident took Murray out of the game late in the first period.
It appears Matt Murray has suffered his third injury of the season.
Detroit Red Wings forward Lucas Raymond seemingly lost an edge in front of Murray, forcing the goaltender to take an awkward fall.
Toronto head trainer Paul Ayotte evaluated Murray following the incident and both went off to the locker room. Ilya Samsonov came on in relief at 16:16 of the first period.
Before departing, Raymond skated to Murray to see if he was ok.
"Maple Leafs head coach Sheldon Keefe had no update after the game of his goaltender's health. He did say that Murray was tested for a concussion and that an update on Murray would arrive "Probably on Tuesday."
The Leafs have a day off on Monday after playing in back-to-back games against the Ottawa Senators and Red Wings over the weekend. The Maple Leafs host the Columbus Blue Jackets on Tuesday.
The 28-year-old goaltender was having a rough night before the collision. He allowed a goal on his first shot of the game and left after allowing two goals on seven total shots.
Murray has missed stretches of the season for two different injuries. He had an adductor injury in October and an ankle injury in January.
Toronto acquired Murray from the Ottawa Senators in July.
