The camp is set to take place later in August. This omission was not lost on Kadri, who took to Instagram to reply to BarDown’s social post with three question marks [https://x.com/BarDown/status/1951455009419436154]. Kadri hasn't worn a Maple Leafs jersey for Canada since the 2010 World Juniors, where the team won a silver medal. He has also not dressed for Canada at the World Hockey Championships during his six NHL seasons that did not have Stanley Cup Playoffs action to follow. Perhaps if he had participated in a world championship or two, he might have gotten an invite. But that shouldn't matter. Hockey Canada proudly listed how many players who have won gold for them in the past for major tournaments, including the worlds. This is also likely why John Tavares received an invite, as he was the only Leaf in the group of 42 players.
