The Maple Leafs made long-term commitments to Chris Tanev and Oliver Ekman-Larsson. Is it enough to remake the look and feel of Toronto's defense? The Toronto Marlies had a unique way of releasing their 2024-25 season schedule. The AHL affiliate of the Maple Leafs joined forces with the CFL's Toronto Argos, who had its players guess the logo of an AHL team before the Marlies revealed how many times they'd play that team in the upcoming season. The NFL's Tennessee Titans have made a similar video in back-to-back years [https://x.com/Titans/status/1656827454118412289] to showcase their schedule for their upcoming season. [embed]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-zWW0oP4RUQ[/embed] Toronto will open its season with back-to-back games against the San Diego Gulls, the AHL affiliate of the Anaheim Ducks, on Oct. 12 and 13. Both teams have never faced each other in a regular season or playoff game. The Marlies will travel to San Diego — and San Jose to take on the Barracuda, the AHL affiliate of the San Jose Sharks — during their annual boat show road trip from Jan. 10 to Feb. 1. Toronto will also play four games at Scotiabank Arena. One game on Boxing Day and another on Family Day (Feb. 17), plus two doubleheaders with the Maple Leafs on Nov. 16 and Mar. 15. The team's longest home stretch will be from Nov. 16 to 24 with five games being played within that span. Their busiest home months will be February and March when Toronto will play seven home games. Pre-sale and ticket sale dates and further information on special theme nights and the team's training camp schedule will be released later this summer.
