With no goals this season, Max Domi isn't sweating his lack of offense provided the club keeps winning. But the team needs more from him. The Toronto Maple Leafs could add two more bodies to their lineup when they take on the New Jersey Devils on Tuesday. Max Domi and Jake McCabe participated in practice on Monday inside the Prudential Center. Neither player skated permanently on a line or defense pairing at practice. Domi rotated through the second line with John Tavares and William Nylander while McCabe skated on the fourth pairing alongside Marshall Rifai. Domi has missed eight games with a lower-body injury. The Maple Leafs placed the forward on injured reserve on Nov. 20, retroactive to four days prior, when they defeated the Edmonton Oilers 4-3 in overtime. The forward has struggled offensively this season, only tallying six assists (and no goals) through 19 games. Domi is averaging 15:18 this season, mainly centring the second and third lines. Berube said following practice that it's a possibility the forward plays in New Jersey. McCabe has been out of the lineup since he took a puck to the head against the Tampa Bay Lightning on Nov. 30. After practice on Dec. 3, the defenseman said he was "good to go," against the Nashville Predators, but didn't feel good enough to play the morning of, according to Berube. Toronto placed McCabe on IR on Dec. 7, retroactive to Nov. 30, when he took the puck to the head. Placing him on IR allowed the Maple Leafs to activate Max Pacioretty off long-term injured reserve. McCabe has played 23 games with the Maple Leafs this season, averaging 21:20 of ice time, the most he's averaged in a season throughout his NHL career. The defenseman also has five assists, mostly playing beside Chris Tanev on the Maple Leafs' shutdown pair. The 31-year-old signed a five-year, $22.55 million extension with Toronto on Oct. 28.
