According to multiple reports, David Kampf is returning to the Maple Leafs on a four-year deal. TSN's Chris Johnston reports Kampf's deal will carry a salary cap hit of $2.4 million. The 28-year-old first joined the Maple Leafs in 2021 when he signed a two-year contract worth $1.5 million per season. He quickly became one of Toronto's top penalty killers, usually playing alongside Mitch Marner on the team's top unit. A reliable defensive forward, Kampf scored seven goals and added 20 assists in 82 games. He was set to become an unrestricted free agent on July 1.
