Martin Jones is now in the mix as the Maple Leafs add to their goaltending depth. William Nylander doesn’t quite understand what the fuss is all about. The Toronto Maple Leafs forward conducted an interview in Stockholm, Sweden on Wednesday with Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedman and Jeff Marek for an upcoming episode of the '32 Thoughts' podcast and was asked about his current contract status with the club. "'Lots of time' to sort out his contract," Friedman shared in a post on X (formerly Twitter). "Says there’s nowhere else he wants to be than Toronto. Doesn’t see why everyone is spending so much time discussing it." Nylander will become an unrestricted free agent at the end of the 2023-24 season and has been eligible to sign a contract extension with the club since July 1.
