The Athletic released their latest mock draft on June 11, 2025, where their staff writers made selections based on who they believe each team would take in real life.

With the Utah Mammoth holding the fourth overall pick in the 2025 NHL Draft—and plenty of speculation that the pick could be traded—it’s interesting to see who The Athletic has them selecting in this scenario.

At fourth overall, they have the Mammoth taking Caleb Desnoyers, a center from the Moncton Wildcats of the QMJHL.

Interestingly, in the write-up explaining the pick, they noted it came down to Desnoyers or Porter Martone.

Over the past week, ever since the 2025 NHL Draft Combine wrapped up, there’s also been some chatter that Utah could be eyeing Brady Martin—a name I recently featured in a draft target article.
