The 2025 NHL Draft Combine wrapped up late last week, and now the rumors and speculation are starting to trickle out. It looks like some of the draft order and team targets are beginning to take shape. According to Cam Robinson of Elite Prospects, there’s a growing belief that the Utah Mammoth could be targeting Brady Martin with the fourth overall pick.

Robinson reported over the weekend: “Word around the campfire is that Utah really likes Brady Martin. Wouldn't be shocking to see him go at No. 4.”

Martin is a player who could carve out a long-term role in Utah’s top six. At the combine, he spoke about how he models his game after players like Sam Bennett, Tom Wilson, and Matthew Knies. If Utah can land someone who delivers 125+ hits and scores 25+ goals consistently over the next 7–10 years, that would be a huge win.

Martin, 18, has built a reputation for his physicality and willingness to drive to the net. His gritty, heavy style is impressive for someone listed at just 6-foot and 178 pounds—but he brings intensity to every shift regardless of the opponent.

The Hockey News’ own Tony Ferrari weighed in on Martin’s game back on Feb. 28:

"He crashes, he bangs, and he can score. Martin does the things a lot of NHL scouts get excited about. Martin accomplishes a lot by simply trying hard and playing harder. Although he may lack some dynamism, NHL teams will value his steady game, knowing he will work hard, get involved physically and clear some space for those around him. He could be an excellent middle-six forward who brings some jam to a skilled line."

While the final decision on Utah’s fourth overall pick is still up in the air, the picture will start to become clearer in the coming weeks. For now, Mammoth fans should keep an eye on Brady Martin as a real possibility heading into the 2025 NHL Draft.
